Kenya Tax Calendar 2026: Key KRA Deadlines
Goldstar Tax Desk 15 December 2025 6 min read
Missing a KRA deadline is the most expensive avoidable mistake a business makes. Bookmark these key monthly and annual dates.
Staying ahead of the KRA calendar is the simplest way to avoid penalties. Here are the dates that matter most for Kenyan businesses.
Monthly PAYE, NSSF, SHIF and the Housing Levy are generally due by the 9th of the following month. VAT returns and payment are due by the 20th. Withholding Tax is remitted by the 20th of the month following deduction.
Annual Instalment tax is paid in four instalments through the year. Annual income tax returns for individuals are due by 30 June. Company returns follow the accounting year-end.
A note on penalties Late filing and late payment attract separate penalties plus interest — they add up quickly. The safest position is a partner who tracks every deadline for you.
